As I sat in church yesterday, I heard a news story from the pulpit. BPM 37093 a huge diamond hangs in space in the Centaurus constellation.

I was intrigued and jotted a few keywords so I could research on the ‘hunk of celestial bling’ in my time. Imagine my consternation when realised it had been discovered 2004! OK I know about it now, but I’m seven years late!

My interest in Astronomy really began when I had to write an essay on Islamic Science. The study of heavenly beings was one of the highest forms of knowledge of that period. Although their understanding of the world wasn’t accurate, their detailed notes extensive diagrams and painstaking experiments sparked an interest in me for this science.
